How to Care for and Clean your Therapy Balls
Once you've gotten your body on a pair, it's obvious The Roll Model and Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls are amazing tools for helping your body feel and move better.
We use our Therapy Balls at home, on the yoga mat, in the office, in the car, at the gym and anywhere we can get our bodies on them. Let's face it - our balls get around and they get dirty! (Do you roll out someplace unique? Tell us about it in the comments!)
When your Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model Therapy Balls are taking a break from caring for your body, here are some tips to care for and clean your Balls:
Balls dislike the light.
Yoga Tune Up® and The Roll Model Therapy Balls don't like the sun or artificial light. The solid rubber balls are made of a natural rubber and will oxidize if exposed to prolonged light, becoming slick and hard over time.
Two of the awesome benefits of Therapy Balls is their grip and grab which dominate the furry surface of tennis balls and the stone-like consistency of lacrosse balls, baseballs or barbells. Keep your balls supple, grippy and squishy.
Clean your balls.
If you're like me, and are in need of the occasional winter activity for your 6 year old, throw them all in the bath! But just like your kid, don't forget to rinse and thoroughly dry them off. Balls don't like prolonged exposure to moisture, they will begin to deteriorate and become hard and slick.
Another option to clean your Yoga Tune Up® Therapy Balls is with a damp cloth and natural soap, yoga mat cleaner, or sanitizing wipes. Dry them completely with a towel before storing.
Cover your balls when not in use.
At my house we have a dark wooden box that our balls sleep in when not in use. It's dry, it's dark and it's in a visible place in our living room.
We also have some in our center console of our cars. The perfect place to resource when sitting in traffic (yes, it exists in Milwaukee).
And of course we have them in our gym bags, and carry-on luggage. The gym and the airplane are 2 of my favorite most beneficial places to roll. Comment below - Where do you keep your Therapy Balls?
Remember to store your balls:

I've recently learned that Coregeous® balls don't like sleeping on varnished wood or fairly recently painted surfaces. It makes a terrible mess and I don't recommend it. Save yourself the trauma of figuring this one out the hard way - keep your Coregeous® balls in a dark gym bag or a dark box.
